Most of us have heard of Argan oil by now and how it is a great conditioner for our hair, but did you know it is also a great oil for our skin too? It moisturises and softens skin without being greasy or irritating, and has a huge list of other body benefits.
Hailing from Morocco, Argan oil is a plant oil that is extracted from the kernels of the Argan Tree (Argania Spinosa). The extraction is a skilled and time consuming process which makes the finished oil expensive to buy. You can recognise a good quality oil by its light yellow colour and gentle nutty aroma.
So what does Argan Oil do for my skin?
Hydrates your skin
Absorbing quickly, it moisturises skin without feeling greasy or leaving any residue behind. Using an oil on your face helps to balance your skins natural oil production so you won’t be left with oily skin, just super hydrated soft skin.
Feeds your skin
Argan oil is full of the good stuff. Its Vitamin E, essential fatty acids and antioxidants makes it a real superfood for our skin.
Gentle on skin
Those with sensitive skin can use it too. The flavonoids in the oil have good anti-inflammatory properties making it great for people with acne, eczema and Rosacea.
Argan oil consists of 80% essential fatty acids and is full of anti-oxidants to protect skins elasticity and keep a youthful glow. It has been shown to fades age spots and increase the regenerative rate of healthy skin cells.
The triterpenoids in Argan Oil have been shown to improve some forms of dermatitis and fade scarring. It’s a great oil to use to help with mild acne and to help heal acne-related scarring.
You can use a 100% pure Argan Oil as a moisturiser. Make sure to check your labels- adding water, preservatives or synthetic ingredients will compromise its benefits.
We use Argan Oil in our Facial Cleansing Oil, and not just a tiny percentage either. Its one of the reasons why our cleanser leaves skin with a seriously hydrated glow.
